Dubai: Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, affirmed that the United Arab Emirates and the Russian Federation enjoy strategic relations built on mutual understanding and shared economic interests. This statement was made during the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russia-UAE Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation, held in Dubai. The meeting was co-chaired by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri and Anton Alikhanov, Russian Industry and Trade Minister, with representatives from relevant government and private-sector entities from both countries in attendance.
According to Emirates News Agency, Bin Touq emphasized the current session of the committee as a significant step towards building partnerships between the business communities and private sectors of both nations. He highlighted the committee's role in exploring opportunities within the business environments of the UAE and Russia and noted the enablers provided by the UAE's business ecosystem, such as flexible economic laws and an advanced business environment.
The committee's discussions focused on cooperation in fields including investment, energy, industry and innovation, food security and agriculture, education, transport and logistics, tourism, sports and culture, environmental protection, and healthcare. Both nations agreed to continue joint efforts to develop new mechanisms for economic cooperation and to support entrepreneurs from both countries, aiming to expand economic collaboration between the UAE and Russia.
