UAE and Senegal Leaders Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties During Abu Dhabi Meeting


Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal, highlighting the commitment of both nations to strengthen their bilateral ties. President Faye’s working visit to the UAE, which includes participation in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, provided a platform to discuss avenues for enhanced cooperation.



According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi focused on enhancing collaboration in sectors such as the economy, trade, renewable energy, sustainability, and infrastructure. These discussions emphasized the mutual goal of supporting progress and prosperity for both countries and their citizens.



The leaders also discussed the significance of the themes addressed during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. The event serves as a global platform for international collaboration, raising awareness of sustainability challenges, and fostering innovative solutions to accelerate sustainable development.



Additionally, His Highness and President Faye exchanged views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding ties between the UAE and Senegal. They expressed a shared ambition to drive sustainable economic growth and explore new avenues for cooperation to advance both nations’ development goals.



The meeting was attended by notable UAE figures, including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; as well as several ministers and senior officials.
