UAE and World Bank Launch Capacity-Building Program in African Nations

Abu Dhabi:The UAE Government, in collaboration with the World Bank Group, has launched the 'Government Experience Exchange Programme for Zero Government Bureaucracy', aimed at enhancing government capabilities in Benin, Djibouti, and Rwanda. This initiative is designed to introduce these countries to the UAE's experience in government modernization and development, translating these experiences into practical initiatives to improve government service efficiency.

According to Emirates News Agency, the programme is part of a partnership between the UAE Government and the World Bank Group, focusing on empowering governments in public administration. It aims to enhance government efficiency and reduce administrative challenges by sharing experiences and methodologies in government modernization.

The first cohort of the program included ministers and senior government officials from Benin, Djibouti, and Rwanda, representing sectors such as digital transformation, economy, finance, health, and information systems. The program included 15 meetings, sessions, and workshops with UAE experts to provide insights into the UAE's Zero Government Bureaucracy experience. These activities facilitated the exchange of experiences in delivering seamless government services and processes.

Participants were supported in identifying priority reform challenges, developing action plans, identifying stakeholders, and establishing KPIs. The program also included a virtual session with Uzbekistan to explore further practical experiences in implementing Zero Government Bureaucracy initiatives. Each participating country formed a national taskforce to address government challenges and develop action plans in coordination with the UAE Government Experience Exchange Office and the World Bank Group.
