Abu Dhabi: Chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Cabinet convened at the UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing the importance of setting clear objectives and a national agenda for 2025. The meeting was attended by key UAE leaders, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, among others. According to Emirates News Agency, the Cabinet underscored the significance of these meetings as pivotal national gatherings that exemplify a unified national team spirit. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the aim to set forth national projects and programs for 2025, advocating for stronger unity and synchronized efforts across all government levels to serve the Union and its people. The Cabinet also reviewed the progress of federal housing plans, noting a significant increase in homeownership among citizens and a reduction in pending housing requests. The Sheikh Zayed Housing Program h as supported over 90,000 citizens, reflecting the UAE's commitment to enhancing its citizens' quality of life. Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the National Anti-Drug Strategy, a comprehensive plan aiming for a drug-free UAE by 2031. This strategy includes expanding rehabilitation centers, increasing public awareness, and enhancing border control against drug trafficking, among other initiatives. The UAE Cabinet ratified 22 international agreements, covering areas such as economic partnerships, legal cooperation, and educational collaboration. These agreements are part of the UAE's strategy to build global bridges and fortify partnerships across various sectors, contributing to its sustainable development journey. Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed the annual results of the Industry Development Council, highlighting significant financing solutions and regulatory advancements to support national products. The Cabinet also discussed the UAE's climate neutrality strategies as part of its commitment to the Un ited Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In alignment with international relations objectives, the Cabinet ratified agreements with countries such as Jordan, South Korea, and the United States, and endorsed upcoming hosting plans for major conferences, positioning the UAE as a regional leader in finance and security. The UAE's membership in OpenPeppol was approved, aiming to streamline e-invoicing through international best practices. The Cabinet also sanctioned a capital increase in the Arab Monetary Fund and reviewed the federation's semi-annual financial statements, among other financial and governance reports.
