Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi. The meeting, attended by senior government officials, focused on approving the National Policy for Economic Clusters and setting the agenda for the UAE Government's Annual Meetings.
According to Emirates News Agency, the National Policy for Economic Clusters aims to develop industry and service clusters across the UAE, leveraging each emirate's unique strengths. This policy is expected to enhance sectoral capabilities, expand access to global markets, and contribute over AED 30 billion annually to the national GDP. The initiative will also reinforce the global competitiveness of the UAE economy.
The UAE Government Annual Meetings are scheduled for 4 to 6 November in Abu Dhabi, with participation from 500 senior government officials. The agenda will focus on education, healthcare, family and national identity, the economy, and artificial intelligence applications. The meetings aim to strengthen team spirit and enhance the competitiveness of government services and strategies.
The Cabinet approved the establishment of the UAE Council for Integrative Medicine, chaired by Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. The Council will promote integrative medicine, combining modern and traditional practices to improve healthcare. It will focus on developing treatment protocols, raising awareness, and building capacities in this field.
The Cabinet reviewed the progress of the UAE Genomics Council's initiatives, including the premarital medical screening programme and the National Genome Programme. The Council has trained over 8,500 individuals and engaged more than 750,000 participants, contributing to advancements in the healthcare system.
In environmental matters, the Cabinet approved the updated National Plan for Reducing Aviation Sector Emissions, aligning with global environmental commitments. It also reviewed the outcomes of the National Environmental Policy, focusing on sustainability and biodiversity, and the National Air Quality Agenda 2031.
The Cabinet reconstituted the Board of Trustees of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy and approved the restructuring of several federal councils and committees. It ratified 85 international agreements and approved the hosting of 12 specialised international events, including the World Maritime Day 2025 Parallel Event.
In legislative affairs, the Cabinet issued the Regulatory Framework for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations and the Executive Regulations for Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 Concerning Consumer Protection. Amendments were also approved to regulate services provided by various ministries and authorities.
The Cabinet reviewed reports on national initiatives, including the Comprehensive Smart Healthcare Initiative 2024 and the readiness of public schools for the 2025-2026 academic year. The meeting highlighted the UAE's commitment to advancing its economic, environmental, and legislative frameworks in line with national and international goals.
