UAE Delivers Humanitarian Aid to Flood-Affected Regions in Syria

Abu dhabi: In continued implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President, the UAE, through the UAE Aid Agency, is delivering humanitarian assistance to people affected by the Euphrates floods in Syria to help with early recovery and stabilization.

According to Emirates News Agency, His Excellency Rashid Salem Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Operations at the UAE Aid Agency, stated that the Agency's work reflects the UAE's humanitarian approach and commitment to supporting people during crises and disasters. The aid is reaching those most in need, particularly women, children, and the elderly.

His Excellency further explained that the humanitarian assistance provided essential support to thousands of beneficiaries, helping affected families cope with the difficult living conditions imposed by the floods and easing the daily burdens these families face.

The Agency's field team is carrying out site visits and holding meetings with residents and relevant local authorities in the affected areas, gaining a firsthand assessment of circumstances and needs. This ensures that support is channeled to those who merit it and achieves the greatest possible impact on the ground, particularly in gauging the scale of the challenges facing the affected communities, alleviating their suffering, and bolstering their ability to overcome the repercussions of disasters and crises.
