UAE Digital School Advances Jordan’s Education Digital Transformation

Amman: The Digital School, an initiative of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), has successfully completed a new phase of its project in Jordan, in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Education and supported by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC). The initiative has reached over 11,000 students, aiming to accelerate digital transformation in education and prepare schools, educators, and learners for the future.

According to Emirates News Agency, the latest phase included the Digital Teacher Programme, delivered by the Global Digital Teacher Academy in collaboration with Arizona State University. This programme empowered more than 800 teachers, educators, and administrators across 15 public schools, establishing integrated digital learning ecosystems and providing 300 students with foundational training in AI.

The initiative also enhanced the digital infrastructure of participating schools, with upgrades such as laptops, tablets, smart screens, and projectors. These tools support the adoption of digital and blended learning models, allowing students and teachers to benefit from the Digital School's interactive content, which aligns with curricula from Grade 1 through Grade 12.

A delegation from the Digital School and the Emirates Red Crescent, along with Dr. Nawaf Al Ajarmeh, Secretary General for Educational Affairs at Jordan's Ministry of Education, visited the schools to review the project's outcomes. They observed the integration of digital solutions into teaching and honored outstanding contributors to the initiative.

The programme included dialogues with school leaders, teachers, and students to gather feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement. A ceremony at the Queen Rania Centre for Education and Information Technology celebrated the project's achievements and honored distinguished contributors.

The Digital Teacher Programme equips educators with skills to leverage emerging technologies, enhancing teaching quality and preparing students for a digital future. The Digital School team and Jordan's Ministry of Education are exploring opportunities to expand the model to more schools, establishing a joint working group to ensure the project's sustainability and impact.

Dr. Waleed Al Ali, Secretary-General of the Digital School, emphasized the importance of empowering teachers for educational transformation. Dr. Nawaf Al Ajarmeh highlighted the project's alignment with Jordan's strategic priorities, and Dr. Sultan Rashid Al Ketbi of the Emirates Red Crescent reiterated their commitment to supporting impactful educational initiatives.
