Baku:A new Community-Managed Virtual Authority has been established under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as announced by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. This initiative aims to align with the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, focusing on empowering citizens and encouraging their contribution to nation-building.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Mansour also appointed H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the Chairman of the Authority. The Community-Managed Virtual Authority will operate on a flexible governance framework emphasizing community participation. It will facilitate the assignment of executive roles to skilled individuals based on approved standards to ensure efficiency and continuity.
The Authority's mission is to enable community involvement in developing and implementing projects that generate sustainable national value. It will work in accordance with UAE's national priorities, focusing on creating innovative solutions and engaging various societal segments, including youth and retirees, in national projects.
The Authority will be guided by principles such as participatory governance, community empowerment, and sustainability, drawing inspiration from the founding father's vision. It will adopt flexible and non-traditional working methods to enhance responsiveness and outcome quality. The Chairman will oversee activities to align with national policies, and the Authority will follow a community-managed model involving a Director-General chosen from the community for each operational cycle.
The UAE aims to present a global model in participatory governance, supporting the UAE Centennial 2071 vision for fostering innovation and community empowerment. This approach seeks to position the UAE as a leader in developing future government models while engaging its citizens effectively.
