UAE-France Energy Forum Explores Strategic Energy Collaboration

Abu Dhabi:The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, in partnership with CCI France UAE, organized the UAE-France Energy Forum under the theme "Powering Tomorrow Together" at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. The event aimed to deepen bilateral cooperation and explore new opportunities within the energy sector between the United Arab Emirates and France.

According to Emirates News Agency, the forum gathered senior government officials, energy industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders from both nations to engage in strategic dialogue, knowledge exchange, and business engagement. This initiative builds on the long-standing energy partnership between the UAE and France, following a high-level UAE delegation's visit to Paris in May 2025.

The forum's discussions centered on balancing decarbonization with energy security, economic competitiveness, technological development, and reliable energy supply. Eng Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasized the shared commitment of the UAE and France to developing secure, resilient, competitive, and low-carbon energy systems. He noted the forum's role in translating this commitment into practical cooperation among governments, industry leaders, and research institutions.

Marie Audouard, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the UAE, expressed France's readiness to support the UAE in strengthening its energy system's resilience and strategic autonomy. The forum featured three thematic sessions focusing on key energy sector priorities, including renewables, grids, storage, nuclear energy, innovative technologies, and reducing the carbon footprint of oil and gas.

The event also facilitated government-to-government and business-to-business engagements, creating networking opportunities and potential partnerships across the energy value chain. The forum highlighted the importance of collaboration among governments, energy companies, technology providers, and academic institutions in addressing the global energy transition's complex requirements. Through this initiative, the UAE and France reaffirmed their commitment to advancing energy cooperation and strengthening their energy ecosystems.
