UAE Inaugurates Islamic Academy in Kyrgyz Republic Under Presidential Directives

Tokmok: Acting on the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a UAE delegation Monday inaugurated the Islamic Academy in Tokmok, Kyrgyz Republic, in the presence of President Sadyr Japarov.

According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative enjoys the support of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, with oversight from H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council (IHPC), and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Erth Zayed Philanthropies.

The opening of the academy reflects the UAE's commitment to strengthening higher and postgraduate education while promoting the values of Islam, inspired by the vision and humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Muhanna Obaid Al Muhairi, Deputy Director General of Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and Dr. Khaled Salem Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Office of Civilisation and Promotion of Human Values, along with officials from both countries.

President Sadyr Japarov praised the ties between Kyrgyzstan and the UAE, commending the UAE's development and humanitarian projects in his country. He expressed gratitude to Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation for its initiatives, emphasizing that thousands of young people will benefit from the educational opportunities provided by this UAE initiative.

The Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation oversaw the construction of the academy in Tokmok, which includes modern classrooms and resources aimed at enhancing university and postgraduate education. The facility is intended to prepare qualified staff to improve the competitiveness of educational services.

Built at a cost exceeding $5 million, the academy offers education free of charge through government grants and on a fee-paying basis. Its programmes aim to foster dialogue and mutual understanding, promoting values such as tolerance and justice, while serving as a platform for cultural and intellectual exchange.

Muhanna Obaid Al Muhairi highlighted the academy's mission and educational model, which seeks to graduate individuals who can contribute to the intellectual and humanitarian landscape with values rooted in Islam. He noted that the academy will begin its programmes this academic year, reflecting the UAE's commitment to global humanitarian projects that invest in human capital.

The educational initiatives of Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation continue to embody the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The foundation supports students at all levels, empowering them to inspire their countries and guide future generations toward knowledge and prosperity.
