UAE Integrative Medicine Council Announces Second Al Shifaa Summit for October 2026

Abu dhabi: The UAE Integrative Medicine Council (UAEIMC) has announced the second edition of Al Shifaa Summit for Integrative Medicine, scheduled from 20th to 22nd October 2026 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. The summit is set to gather leading experts from both local and international arenas to share knowledge and discuss scientific evidence and innovations that are shaping the future of integrative medicine practices. According to Emirates News Agency, the Al Shifaa Summit is an initiative of the UAEIMC and will take place as part of the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026, under the theme 'To Sense is to Predict'. The event aims to provide a platform for examining traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine practices. It will explore the connection between inherited knowledge and scientific evidence in advancing the field safely and responsibly. The programme for 2026 will delve into the evolution of integrative medicine, covering traditional knowledge, scientific foundations, research, educat ion, and practical application. The focus will be on four key areas: higher education and training, research and clinical evidence, applied innovation and solutions, and the role of artificial intelligence in the future of integrative medicine. Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the UAEIMC, emphasized the council's commitment to advancing integrative medicine in the UAE. She highlighted the integration of traditional and complementary practices within the UAE's healthcare system and the importance of international collaboration in the field's development. The summit, following its inaugural event last year which hosted over 25 experts, will offer opportunities to identify common priorities and future cooperation areas. It aims to contribute to discussions on integrative medicine at both regional and international levels, reinforcing the UAE's position as a hub for dialogue and collaboration in the field.
