Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, has announced the launch of the UAE's Volunteering and Community Engagement Ecosystem. This initiative aligns with the UAE leadership's commitment to sustainable human development, placing the human being at the core of national strategies and development efforts.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Mansour highlighted that the new ecosystem reflects the UAE's prominent global position in giving and community engagement. It aims to strengthen social cohesion and foster responsibility while enhancing partnerships between the government, private sector, and public-benefit institutions. This initiative is seen as a step towards building a cohesive and future-ready community.
Sheikh Mansour emphasized that volunteerism is integral to the Emirati identity and a pillar of sustainable development. The UAE consistently ranks high in the World Giving Index, showcasing its commitment to creating a resilient society capable of overcoming challenges and achieving future aspirations.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, remarked that the success of the UAE is rooted in its people. He stressed that the ecosystem builds on the UAE's values of goodwill, philanthropy, and solidarity, which are essential for security and prosperity.
Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, noted that the framework empowers the UAE population to support comprehensive development, leveraging the country's diversity to achieve a lasting impact in social and humanitarian action.
H.H. Sheikha Maryam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Education and Human and Community Development Council, reiterated the importance of instilling Emirati social values in youth. She emphasized that volunteerism is an expression of patriotism and shared humanity.
Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Development, described the launch as a transformative step reflecting the leadership's trust in society's potential. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, introduced the 'Barakatna' initiative to support national volunteerism efforts. She encouraged federal employees to participate, linking their contributions to performance metrics, aiming to elevate the UAE's standing in the World Giving Index.
