Seoul: The UAE national rugby team (15-a-side category) achieved a victory against South Korea with a score of 38-36 in the second round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2027 Rugby World Cup, set to be held in Australia. The match, held in Seoul, concluded the first half tied at 21-21.
According to Emirates News Agency, this win has bolstered the UAE team's prospects for qualifying for the World Cup. The decisive third round of qualifiers will see the UAE compete against Sri Lanka on July 4 in Colombo.
The team that secures the first position will earn a direct entry to the World Cup, while the second-placed team will move on to the final qualification playoff. This playoff event is scheduled to be hosted in Dubai from November 8 to 18.
