Abu dhabi: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, concluded its impressive campaign at the 2026 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship with an impressive haul of 65 medals. This includes 18 gold, 17 silver, and 30 bronze medals, achieved after strong performances across both the youth and Adult divisions at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Adult division competitions marked the closing of the UAE's campaign, with the national team securing 14 medals. This tally consisted of six gold, six silver, and two bronze medals, earned against some of the world's top athletes. On the final day of the Adult men's competition, the UAE added four more medals. Abdullah Al Qubaisi earned a silver in the Under-94kg division, while Saeed Al Qubaisi secured a silver in the Under-85kg category. Additionally, Hazza Farhan claimed a bronze medal in the +94kg division, and Amaar Al Hosani took bronze in the Under-94kg category.
The UAE's final medal count included 12 medals from the Under-14 World Cup, 13 from the Under-16 division, 13 from the Under-18 division, 13 from the Under-21 division, and 14 from the Adult competition. Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, commented on the team's achievements, stating that the results build on the strong performances observed at previous international events. He emphasized the importance of regular competition at international events in enhancing athletes' preparation and confidence against diverse opponents. The 14 medals won in the Adult division reflect the progress in how athletes execute their plans and manage their matches.
Silver medallist Saeed Al Qubaisi expressed gratitude to the UAE's leadership for their strong support of sports and athletes. He also thanked the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation for its continuous efforts to support and develop athletes. Al Qubaisi shared his commitment to working hard to reach the top of the podium in future championships.
