UAE President and German Chancellor Announce Strategic Agreements

Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz today witnessed the launch of several strategic agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. The announcement took place during Sheikh Mohamed's state visit to Germany.

According to Emirates News Agency, the agreements are designed to build upon the existing UAE-Germany partnership, focusing on economic development, advanced technology, and energy collaboration. A key highlight of the meeting was the declaration of intent to establish a UAE-German Investment Council, alongside the initiation of a Strategic Dialogue between the two nations.

The agreements also include air transport arrangements, cooperation in defense and security, energy expansion, investment in data centers, mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, and environmental cooperation. Memoranda of understanding have been signed to address crime combat, cultural collaboration, and the development of data hosting and information systems.

Representatives from both countries, including UAE officials such as His Excellency Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi and His Excellency Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, alongside German ministers and officials, participated in the exchange of these agreements. This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening the ties between the UAE and Germany.
