Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today engaged in discussions with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, focusing on the strong fraternal relations and cooperation between the two nations. Both leaders emphasized their dedication to further strengthening these ties to serve the mutual interests and benefit the peoples of the UAE and Jordan.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where the leaders also addressed several regional and international concerns. The discussions centered on the Middle East situation, particularly the latest developments in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The leaders reiterated their countries' unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and highlighted the importance of international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
In their discussions, both sides firmly opposed any Israeli plans to annex the West Bank or any part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the ongoing settlement expansion. They warned that such actions threaten the two-state solution and regional peace, security, and stability. Additionally, the leaders rejected Israeli statements that pose a threat to the sovereignty of countries in the region.
His Highness and His Majesty stressed their shared commitment to continue close consultation and coordination, especially given the evolving regional landscape. The meeting saw the attendance of several high-ranking officials from both nations, including UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Jordanian Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah.
Before departing the UAE, King Abdullah II was bid farewell at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Mohamed, accompanied by several Sheikhs and senior officials.
