Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today ordered the release of 963 prisoners from correctional institutions on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
According to Emirates News Agency, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also pledged to cover all fines imposed on the inmates, who had been sentenced for a variety of offences. This customary act is part of the President's initiative to give prisoners a chance for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
His Highness regularly orders pardons for prisoners on occasions such as Eid Al-Adha. The initiative aims to provide the released inmates with an opportunity to start a new life and contribute once again to their families and communities. This gesture also serves to promote the values of forgiveness and compassion within the society.
