UAE President Strengthens Bilateral Relations With Kazakhstan Counterpart

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today met with His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who is on a working visit to the UAE. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and explored ways to strengthen cooperation for the mutual benefit of their countries and peoples.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed President Tokayev and his delegation. He expressed gratitude to the Kazakh leader for participating in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, highlighting the shared commitment to sustainability and collaboration between the nations.

The discussions included the themes of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, recognized as an international platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas to promote sustainability globally. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasized the strong relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan, established in 1993, and the UAE's dedication to enhancing collaboration in sectors like renewable energy, trade, investment, agriculture, and space exploration.

His Highness also noted the shared commitment of both countries to multilateral international cooperation, particularly through the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, where the UAE is a Dialogue Partner. The leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues, underscoring the importance of diplomatic efforts to promote peace and tackle shared challenges, with climate change as a priority.

President Tokayev appreciated the warm reception and reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to strengthening ties with the UAE to support mutual development goals. He praised Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week's role in raising global awareness on sustainability to protect future generations.

The meeting was attended by several UAE officials, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and various ministers and ambassadors. President Tokayev's arrival in the UAE was marked by a reception at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi.
