UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Global Refugee Support: Hamdan bin Zayed

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), emphasized the UAE's ongoing commitment to supporting refugee and displaced communities under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the UAE's comprehensive approach to refugee and displacement issues, focusing on innovative solutions to alleviate humanitarian and developmental impacts. The strategy includes addressing the root causes of displacement, supporting disadvantaged communities, and promoting initiatives that reinforce security, stability, peace, coexistence, and human fraternity.

In observance of World Refugee Day on 20th June, Sheikh Hamdan noted that the UAE's initiatives aimed at empowering refugees align with global efforts to improve the living conditions of displaced individuals. He acknowledged the significant contributions of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, through the Sheikha Fatima Fund for Refugee Women, in enhancing the conditions of refugee women and facilitating their economic, social, and psychological empowerment.

Sheikh Hamdan reiterated that the UAE's efforts to improve refugees' quality of life are founded on long-standing humanitarian principles. These efforts seek to mitigate the challenges of displacement, assist refugees in rebuilding their lives, and support host communities through development projects that address essential needs such as health and education.

He also underscored the strategic partnership between the ERC and the UNHCR, highlighting the successful implementation of initiatives and projects that have significantly improved services for refugees, particularly in the health and education sectors. Sheikh Hamdan commended UNHCR's dedication to serving millions of refugees and enhancing their humanitarian conditions.
