UAE-Russia Economic Partnership Poised for New Growth Phase, Says Business Council Chairman

Abu dhabi: Alexander Vinokurov, Chairman of the Russia-UAE Business Council, emphasized the strengthening of the UAE-Russia partnership during the First UAE-Russia Business Forum. He noted that the UAE is a strategic long-term partner for Russia not only in trade but also in structural investment.

According to Emirates News Agency, Vinokurov highlighted the expanding interest of Emirati companies across multiple sectors, approaching cooperation with a practical, opportunity-driven mindset. He pointed out that Emirati businesses are keen on participating in localized production, joint ventures, and supply-chain integration. The UAE views Russia as a reliable supplier of grain, meat, and processed products, with rising interest in co-investing in logistics and processing facilities.

Vinokurov noted that the Forum showcased key areas of cooperation that both sides aim to advance, particularly in fintech, smart-city technologies, cybersecurity, and AI-driven services. These areas are gaining momentum as both countries prioritize technological sovereignty.

He stressed that this year's Forum marks a turning point in the long-term economic relationship between the two nations. He expressed confidence that the Forum will serve as a foundational step for a new and improved phase of the UAE-Russia economic partnership.

Despite notable achievements, Vinokurov acknowledged that bilateral potential remains far greater. He emphasized that their joint business and economic achievements still fall short of their true potential, even though current figures reach into the tens of billions as evidenced by agreements signed during the Forum. The untapped opportunities are significantly greater, and addressing this gap remains a central mission for the Russia-UAE Business Council.

The inaugural UAE-Russia Business Forum, organized by the Russia-UAE Business Council with the Roscongress Foundation and supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and Marathon Investment Group, convened leaders from major companies, investment funds, relevant ministries, and technology startups from Russia and the UAE.
