Abu dhabi: The UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation has announced that the national modern sailing team, competing in the Elite category, will participate in the ILCA 7 World Championship in Ireland from August 23 to 30. This significant participation marks a step forward in the UAE's commitment to advancing in international sailing competitions.
According to Emirates News Agency, the federation outlined that the team's preparations commence today in Riva del Garda, Italy, and will continue until August 23. These preparations are in anticipation of both the World Championship and the upcoming Asian Games in Japan, set for September and October.
The national team comprises four athletes who will be under the guidance of the federation's technical director, Zuhair Al Labat. Mohammed Al Obaidli, the Secretary-General of the federation, emphasized that the training camp in Italy is a crucial part of the athletes' preparation program. He noted that this camp aligns with the technical staff's strategy to enhance the athletes' technical and physical readiness to the highest possible level before facing international competitors at the World Championship and the Asian Games in Japan.
