UAE Sends Joint Relief Team to Assist Earthquake Victims in Northern Afghanistan

Abu dhabi: In line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a joint relief team has been dispatched from the UAE to northern Afghanistan, following the earthquake that recently impacted the region. The team, comprising representatives from the Joint Operations Command, the UAE Aid Agency, and the Emirates Red Crescent, is tasked with delivering urgent assistance and supporting communities affected by the disaster. According to Emirates News Agency, the team is coordinating with local authorities and international partners to conduct field assessments, enhance the effectiveness of relief operations, and expand the scope of the response. Their mission includes providing logistical and humanitarian support to the most affected regions and addressing the immediate needs of the victims through direct assistance. The UAE has also initiated an urgent air bridge to northern Afghanistan, deploying four aircraft loaded with comprehensive humanitarian aid. These include essenti al relief supplies, medical materials, and shelter tents. To ensure a rapid and effective response, additional supplies are being procured from local markets in Afghanistan. This effort aims to reinforce relief efforts, support the injured, and mitigate the immediate impact of the disaster on affected families. The swift response underscores the UAE's commitment to humanitarian efforts and reflects the leadership's enduring approach to supporting communities in crisis zones worldwide.
