UAE to Host 2029 World Bank Group and IMF Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi

Abu dhabi: The UAE has announced that it will host the 2029 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Abu Dhabi, marking another milestone in the country's journey as a global financial hub.

According to Emirates News Agency, this decision reflects international trust in the UAE's economic power and institutional readiness. The UAE was selected to host the event after securing the highest number of votes in an international evaluation process. This move is a testament to the country's balanced fiscal and monetary policies, advanced infrastructure, and extensive experience in organizing major international events.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, expressed pride in the UAE's growing global standing and the trust it continues to earn worldwide. He highlighted the significance of these global meetings, which bring together central bank governors and finance ministers from 190 countries to shape global financial stability policies.
