Al Ain: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and McGill University announced the winners of the first cycle of their joint research grant programme. This initiative, established to promote collaborative, high-impact research between the two institutions, supports interdisciplinary projects addressing global challenges in science, medicine, and law.
According to Emirates News Agency, the four awarded projects include 'Reinforcement Learning and Energy-Efficient TinyML Approach for VTOL UAVs', which focuses on enhancing capabilities through advanced machine learning. The 'SORT: Safety of OIT in a Randomized Trial for Peanuts, Milk, and Eggs' project is a leading study assessing the safety of oral immunotherapy. Another project, 'Creating and Validating Generative AI Models that Synthesize High-Quality MRI Images of Multiple Sclerosis Patients', aims to improve diagnostic imaging using artificial intelligence. The final project, 'CRISPR-Cas9: Advancing Gene Editing and Exploring Its Ethical and Legal Dimensions', explores the frontiers of gene-editing technology and its social impacts.
