UAEV and AW Rostamani Group Partner to Enhance EV Charging Infrastructure in UAE

Abu Dhabi: Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV), a collaboration between the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and Etihad Water and Electricity, has entered into a strategic agreement with AW Rostamani Group (AWR Group) to improve the electric vehicle (EV) charging experience throughout the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, this agreement, which was signed during the EVIS 2025 (Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit), aligns with the UAE's dedication to sustainable mobility and future-ready transport solutions. Key figures present at the signing included Hicham Ezzahid, CEO; Badr Al Awadhi, Chief Commercial Officer; and Andrew Chan, Chief Operating Officer from UAEV, alongside Sanaa Ouahmane, CEO of the Mobility Services division; Sara O'hara, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer; and Sandeeep Arora, Director of Business Excellence from AWR Group.

AWR Group, known for being the exclusive distributor of Zeekr and smart vehicles in the UAE, will provide charging credits to customers purchasing these electric vehicles. The credits can be activated via the UAEV app and used at any UAEV station, granting drivers access to one of the fastest-growing EV charging networks in the UAE.

Hicham Ezzahid of UAEV emphasized the partnership's importance in facilitating electric vehicle adoption and enhancing the ownership experience, which aligns with the nation's transition to clean mobility. Sanaa Ouahmane of AWR Group highlighted the alliance's focus on customer education, accessibility, and sustainability, contributing to a new standard in mobility.

The collaboration aligns with the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategy and National Electric Vehicles Policy by enhancing EV driver accessibility and promoting climate-smart transport solutions. It is expected to cut over 100,000 tonnes of CO2 by 2030.

With 122 charging ports currently operational and plans to expand to 300 by 2025, UAEV operates the largest EV network in the Northern Emirates, addressing charging limitations that have hindered EV adoption. This partnership with AWR Group aims to provide reliable and seamless charging solutions, supporting UAEV's goal of creating a comprehensive nationwide network for EV users.

The charging credit programme is set to launch in the coming months, urging Zeekr and smart drivers to download the UAEV app to activate their credits and access the national charging network.
