UAEV and Dubai World Trade Centre Partner to Expand EV Charging Infrastructure

Dubai:UAEV has entered into an agreement with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) to enhance the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across designated parking areas at both the Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Exhibition Centre. This initiative, signed during WETEX, aims to improve access to charging facilities at key business, exhibition, and event locations in Dubai.

According to Wam, the planned infrastructure is intended to serve visitors attending exhibitions, conferences, and events, as well as businesses and commercial fleets operating in and around these areas. By integrating charging facilities into existing parking spaces, the initiative seeks to make charging more convenient and support the increasing demand for electric mobility.

Phase 1 of the deployment at DWTC will cover four locations, establishing the project's initial footprint within one of Dubai's busiest business and exhibition districts. Ali Al Darwish, Acting CEO of UAEV, emphasized the importance of accessible charging for people and businesses choosing electric vehicles, noting that the agreement will make it easier for drivers to incorporate charging into their daily activities.

Abdulrahman Obaid Abu Al Shawareb, EVP of Protocol and Security at DWTC, highlighted the collaboration's alignment with Dubai's ambitions for a sustainable and future-ready urban environment. He stated that the partnership would progressively expand EV charging facilities across DWTC's destinations, enhancing the visitor experience by providing greater convenience and accessibility.

The agreement between UAEV and DWTC leverages UAEV's expertise in charging technology and DWTC's exhibition and commercial locations to support the continued growth of Dubai's public EV charging network. It underscores a shared commitment to developing infrastructure that adapts to evolving mobility needs and supports the UAE's broader sustainability goals.
