Under Patronage of Mansour bin Zayed, Largest Edition of Global Food Week to Take Place in Abu Dhabi

Abu dhabi: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the largest edition of Global Food Week is scheduled to be held from 6 to 8 October 2026 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. Organised by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), this event promises to be a significant gathering for the global food industry.

According to Emirates News Agency, the 2026 edition is set to expand its scope by introducing a consumer-facing element in addition to the established business-to-business (B2B) trade, policymaking, and investment opportunities. Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Ameri, Acting Director-General of ADAFSA, emphasized that Global Food Week aligns with Abu Dhabi's vision of enhancing food system sustainability and competitiveness.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC Group, highlighted the event's role in reinforcing Abu Dhabi's position as a global hub for trade, investment, and innovation in the food sector. The 2026 edition will provide platforms for local and regional brands to showcase their products to an international audience.

Dr. Abdelouahhab Alboukhari Zaid from the Erth Zayed Philanthropies Foundation underscored the UAE's commitment to innovation and strategic partnerships in building sustainable food systems. The event will also feature the second edition of the Global Food Security Summit, focusing on efforts to build a resilient and future-ready food ecosystem.

The 2026 edition will introduce a Business to Consumer element to enhance direct interaction between companies and consumers. New sectors, such as Animal Feed and a dedicated honey exhibition, will be part of the event. Global Food Week will bring together governments, buyers, investors, suppliers, farmers, manufacturers, and innovators.

Key features returning this year include the expanded AgriTech Forum and the Farmers Market, alongside the Hosted Buyers Programme. The event will also see participation from leading global organisations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Organisation for Animal Health.

Global Food Week will showcase the entire food value chain, from primary production to circular economy solutions. Held in Abu Dhabi, the event is part of the UAE's National Food Security Strategy, aiming to secure the future of food systems and support international cooperation in addressing food security challenges.
