United Arab Emirates Pledges $200,000 to UNHCR’s Refugee Programme for 2025.

Geneva: The United Arab Emirates has announced a financial contribution of US$200,000 for 2025 to the UNHCR's Refugee Programme during the UNHCR Pledging Conference. The pledge was made to support the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees' ongoing efforts to aid refugees and displaced individuals worldwide. According to Emirates News Agency, Filippo Grandi, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, expressed his appreciation to the UAE for its support and commitment to the plight of refugees and for the announcement of its financial contribution at the pledging conference. This annual event, established by the General Assembly, serves as a platform for announcing pledges and voluntary contributions to the UNHCR's programme. Jamal Al Musharakh, the UAE's Permanent Representative to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva, emphasized the UAE's steadfast commitment to supporting the UNHCR's unwavering efforts to provide life-saving protection and essential assistance to millions of refugees and displaced persons around the world. He stressed that by supporting UNHCR's mission, the UAE reaffirms its commitment to the principles of humanity and dignity for all.
