University of Sharjah Celebrates Graduation of 190 in Career-Focused Diploma Programmes

Sharjah: The University of Sharjah (UOS) recently celebrated the graduation of 190 students who completed professional diploma programs developed in collaboration with various government institutions and agencies.

According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony, hosted by the University's Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development, recognized graduates including employees of partner organizations and job seekers who completed specialized training programs tailored to meet the evolving needs of the labor market.

The event marked the culmination of a diverse array of diploma programs, such as the Professional Diploma in Leadership Development for the Sharjah Public Works Department and the Professional Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety, and Business Continuity for the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority. Other specialized diplomas included fields like cybercrime investigation, addiction rehabilitation, and international commercial arbitration, reflecting the University's commitment to addressing the demands of both the job market and wider society.

In his opening speech, Professor Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, emphasized the institution's dedication to delivering high-quality education and training. He expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and founder of the University, for his unwavering support of education as a cornerstone of personal and societal development. Prof. Al Nuaimi also acknowledged the contributions of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University, in enhancing the University's academic and research initiatives.

Prof. Al Nuaimi congratulated the graduates, highlighting their achievements as milestones in the University's pursuit of excellence. He noted that the diplomas were completed through specialized tracks led by distinguished faculty and external experts, ensuring a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience. He encouraged graduates to use their newly acquired skills as tools for change and creativity, emphasizing the University's ongoing pride in their future successes.

Dr. Asmaa Nassiri, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development, outlined the center's role in developing technical and specialized skills to meet the rapidly changing workforce demands. She highlighted the rigorous nature of the programs, which combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, and thanked the University's government partners for their support in these initiatives, reinforcing the center's commitment to community service and human capital development.

The graduation ceremony also featured cultural performances, including the UAE national anthem and a musical tribute by students from the Sharjah Academy of Performing Arts, along with a film showcasing the center's activities. Prominent officials from partner organizations attended the event, underscoring the collaborative effort involved in these educational programs.
