Abu dhabi: US stocks were higher after the close on Friday. The S and P 500 rose 61.82 points to 7,398.93. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 12.19 to 49,609.16, and the Nasdaq composite climbed 440.88 to 26,247.08.
According to Emirates News Agency, in stock markets abroad, indexes fell across much of Europe and Asia. Germany's DAX lost 1.3%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped 0.9% for two of the bigger losses.
