Dubai: Al Jalila Children's Hospital, part of Dubai Health, and the only children's hospital in the UAE, has completed over 100 treatments for patients with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Mohamed Al Awadhi, Executive Director of the Dubai Health Women and Children's Campus, remarked on this achievement as a testament to Dubai Health's dedication to making top-tier medical care accessible to all children. The hospital's integrated, patient-centred approach ensures that each phase of the treatment journey is managed with precision, keeping the patient's needs at the forefront. Dr. Al Awadhi highlighted the case of a patient named Yaqeen, demonstrating the hospital's commitment to providing comprehensive care for children with complex conditions like SMA.
Dr. Haitham Elbashir, Consultant Pediatric Neurorehabilitation at Al Jalila Children's Hospital, expressed optimism about the role of Zolgensma, a transformative therapy.
