WCO Technology Conference and Exhibition 2026 Strengthens GCC Customs System: Qatar Customs Chief

Abu dhabi: Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Chairman of the General Authority of Customs (GAC) in the State of Qatar, stated that the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Technology Conference and Exhibition 2026 acts as a unifying platform for customs authorities and institutions from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and globally. It contributes to the exchange of expertise among participants and enriches the Gulf customs ecosystem.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Jamal emphasized during his participation in the event, hosted by the UAE at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), that the conference, organized by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, is one of the most significant exhibitions in the region. It gathers customs authorities and exhibitors presenting leading technological solutions for customs, which help enhance global trade flows.

He further explained that the conference addresses key issues in customs work, particularly digital customs systems, which have become a top priority for customs authorities worldwide due to increasingly complex supply chains, changing geopolitical conditions, and regional and international developments. Al Jamal noted that customs authorities now face significant challenges in facilitating trade while ensuring compliance.

Additionally, Al Jamal highlighted that participating companies are showcasing leading solutions and innovations aimed at facilitating trade and supporting digital transformation. He expressed appreciation to the UAE for inviting the State of Qatar to participate in this global event.
