Women Leaders Share Tech Stories at Women in Technology Forum

Sharjah: The 6th edition of the Women in Technology Forum, organised by the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK), kicked off yesterday, in the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SPARK. The forum saw participation of prominent female leaders, technology experts, and young entrepreneurs from around the globe.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi opened the event with a speech in which she reminded the audience of women's pivotal role in driving innovation and shaping the future, and advocated for a stronger female presence in science, research, and advanced technologies. She emphasized the importance of women being central to technological advancements, combining their strengths with emerging technologies to build resilient systems and foster ethical innovation.

Held under the theme 'Future Lifestyles', this year's forum featured a comprehensive agenda including keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Topics such as health technologies, longevity-enabling technologies, Artificial Intelligence and robotics, sustainability, and smart lifestyles were explored. A high-level CEOs' panel discussed policies to empower women in innovation sectors, complemented by a youth session from the Sharjah Youth Council.

Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future in the United Arab Emirates, addressed the forum, stressing the significance of linking technological progress with sustainable development. She lauded the Women in Technology Forum and the patronage of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, highlighting her as a pioneering leader and an inspiration for women globally.

The event featured numerous speakers and experts who provided a global perspective on women's roles in technology. Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, commented on the importance of diverse voices in innovation and the role of women in building sustainable knowledge economies. He emphasized SPARK's commitment to creating opportunities for women innovators and entrepreneurs through the Women in Tech Forum.
