World Muslim Communities Council Delegation Explores Collaborative Opportunities in China’s Xinjiang Region

Beijing: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the World Muslim Communities Council, recently led a delegation to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China. During this official visit, Dr. Al Nuaimi met with Erkin Tuniyaz, Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People's Government, to engage in discussions aimed at strengthening dialogue and expanding cooperation with religious, academic, and research institutions. According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on various issues of mutual interest, including enhancing cooperation pathways and supporting efforts to promote values of coexistence, tolerance, and mutual understanding. This visit underscores the Council's ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue and communication among Muslim communities worldwide. The delegation's visit also featured participation in the 3rd International Symposium on Countering Extremism, hosted in Urumqi, Xinjiang. The symposium attracted policymakers and representatives from res earch centers in over 25 countries, providing a platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening international efforts to combat extremist ideologies. The World Muslim Communities Council's visit is part of its continuous mission to promote moderation and peaceful coexistence, contributing to global social harmony and sustainable development. Furthermore, Dr. Al Nuaimi held meetings with Li Yifei, Chairman of the Communist Party Committee of the People's Congress, in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region during the 7th China-Arab States Expo in Yinchuan. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the crucial role China plays in managing cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity, presenting it as a global model. He highlighted the foundation of mutual respect and learning that characterizes the relationship between China and the Islamic world, stressing the need for wise leadership to maintain stability and ensure positive outcomes for all. Li Yifei expressed his appreciation for the delegation's visit, emphasizing the import ance of ongoing dialogue between China and the Arab world. He noted the historic ties between the two regions, dating back over a millennium. The high-level delegation, led by Dr. Al Nuaimi, included scholars and representatives of Islamic and academic institutions from countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Mali, Nigeria, and Serbia, all dedicated to fostering dialogue, understanding, and peaceful coexistence.
