Abu dhabi: Zayed Authority for People of Determination continues the implementation of its community initiative, 'Support Your Team with Sportsmanship. and Enjoy the Competition,' coinciding with the anticipated match between Al Ain Club and Al Jazira Club in the final of the UAE President's Cup, scheduled to take place on Friday, 22 May, at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative is part of the national efforts by the Authority to promote respectful support, reinforce sportsmanship values, and reject sports fanaticism. It also aims to raise awareness about responsible cheering and showcases the active participation of People of Determination in national, sports, and community events.
Special sports scarves for Al Ain and Al Jazira clubs were crafted by members of the Authority, who are People of Determination, within vocational rehabilitation workshops under the 'Al Nahla' brand. This reflects their skills and professional capabilities under the slogan: 'Cheer with Sportsmanship. and Support People of Determination.'
An awareness film was also released by the Authority, featuring its members delivering messages to supporters of both teams. The film encourages respectful cheering, avoiding conflicts and fanaticism, particularly on social media, and emphasizes that sport is a venue for love and fair competition.
The Authority highlighted that 'Support Your Team with Sportsmanship' is a sustainable community initiative, implemented during various tournaments and sporting events to promote public awareness of sportsmanship and positive support. Over the years, thousands of sports scarves have been produced for several local and Arab clubs, including Al Ain, Al Wahda, Al Jazira, Al Wasl, Al Ahly, and Egypt's Zamalek Club, as part of vocational rehabilitation programs for People of Determination.
