Zayed Higher Organisation and TRENDS Launch ‘Al-Watheqa’ Podcast Episode on Union Pledge Day

Abu dhabi: Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, in collaboration with TRENDS Research and Advisory, has launched a special episode of its documentary podcast 'Al Wathiqa' to celebrate Union Pledge Day. This episode highlights an often-overlooked aspect of the UAE's founding history, focusing on the familial and marital ties among the founding leaders, which played a crucial role in the Union's formation.

According to Emirates News Agency, this episode of 'Al Wathiqa' presents a unique narrative of the Union as a single household united by kinship. It emphasizes that the UAE's national unity was not solely driven by political interests but was deeply rooted in familial bonds and intermarriage among leaders. These connections have persisted across generations, shaping the UAE into a rare model of unity rooted deeply in interpersonal relationships before becoming a constitutional reality.

The episode exemplifies the pioneering efforts of the Zayed Higher Organisation in media empowerment for People of Determination. By partnering with TRENDS, the organisation has launched 'Al Wathiqa' as a podcast platform that documents the UAE's history through voices of People of Determination. This narrative style resonates with every Emirati heart, especially among the youth, who are future leaders.

Through historical evidence and storytelling, 'Al Wathiqa' illustrates how intermarriages between the rulers of the seven Emirates were integral to a founding system built on trust and closeness. These ties reinforced the concept of 'We are one family,' as expressed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan: 'The house is united'.

The episode highlights this phrase as a lived reality for every Emirati. It delves into how the founding leaders transformed familial ties into bridges of trust and solidarity, laying the strong foundations of the nation.

Presented by a team of five trained presenters with determination, prepared through specialised workshops, this episode reflects the organisation's vision of turning empowerment into action and integrating People of Determination into the national cultural and media landscape.

Part of the broader 'Al Wathiqa' series, this episode is among 25 short episodes narrating key national and cultural milestones in the UAE's history. The series covers stories of founding leaders, heritage landmarks, social practices, the role of women, and scenes of contemporary renaissance.

'Al Wathiqa' goes beyond recounting history; it rekindles its spirit for future generations. The project aligns with Zayed Higher Organisation's commitment to the "Year of Community" by reinforcing national identity, empowering People of Determination as content creators, and involving them in documenting the nation's history through a modern lens.
