Cairo: The Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States is set to hold its 118th regular session at the ministerial level on Thursday at the headquarters of the League's General Secretariat. The session will focus on several significant topics including the completion of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, developments within the Arab Customs Union, and food security, alongside discussions on various joint Arab development issues.
According to Emirates News Agency, a series of preparatory meetings organized by the Secretariat of the Economic and Social Council have been underway in anticipation of the ministerial session. These meetings commenced on Sunday with the Social Committee, and the Economic Committee is scheduled to convene on Monday. The Council is also slated to meet at the senior officials level on Wednesday, setting the stage for the high-level ministerial discussions on Thursday.
