4.9-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southwest Mexico

Mexico City, An earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Sunday the state of Guerrero, southwest of Mexico.

The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred 33 km from Copala city, located in the state, and at a depth of 10 km.

There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.

The last strong earthquake in Mexico dates back to Sept. 2017, when it struck the capital, Mexico City, and the neighboring states of Murillo and Puebla, claiming 370 lives.
