A cooperation agreement between Tax Authority and Ministry of Interior to combat tax evasion and financial crimes.FRIDAY, JANUARY 5, 2023

The Tax Authority and Ministry of Interior signed yesterday in Tripoli a cooperation agreement to combat tax evasion and financial crimes. The agreement was signed by the Deputy Director General of the Tax Authority, Omar Al-Zarrouk, and the Head of the Department for Combating Financial Crimes, Money Laundering, and Terrorist Financing at the Ministry, Major General Jamal Al-Mazoughi. In a statement to Libyan News Agency, Al-Zarrouk said that this agreement comes within a joint cooperative organizational work between the two institutions to enable them to perform their duties, commending the cooperation with the Ministry of Interior to serve the national economy. For his part, Al-Mazoughi said that the Tax Authority and the Anti-Financial Crimes Authority complement each other's work, and this agreement serves the nation and combats tax evasion and financial crimes. The agreement aims to activate joint cooperation between the two parties to preserve public money, achieve national interest, and work to e nd financial crimes that harm the national economy to ensure the collection of public treasury dues in accordance with applicable legislation.
