Abdullah Bin Zayed Meets Hussein Al-Sheikh to Discuss Gaza Crisis

Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Hussein Al-Sheikh, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation and Vice President of the State of Palestine. At the start of the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah expressed his best wishes to Hussein Al-Sheikh for success in his duties.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting, held today in Abu Dhabi, focused on the current developments in the region, particularly the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Both parties emphasized the importance of intensifying international efforts to address the urgent humanitarian needs of civilians in the region.

The UAE's top diplomat reaffirmed the nation's longstanding support for the Palestinian people, emphasizing the UAE's commitment to their legitimate aspirations for peace, stability, development, and a dignified life. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah stressed the need for concerted international efforts to tackle the escalating humanitarian crisis and build a sustainable response that meets the needs of affected civilians.

Sheikh Abdullah also highlighted the importance of ending extremism and violence in the region while advancing toward a serious political dialogue aimed at reviving negotiations based on the 'two-state solution.' This approach seeks to achieve comprehensive peace, reinforce stability, and ensure sustainable security in the region.

The meeting was attended by Khalifa Shaheen Almarar, Minister of State, and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs.
