Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre Unveils Ambitious 2025-2027 Strategy

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre (ADHMMC) has announced the launch of its comprehensive Strategy for 2025-2027, marking a pivotal development in the emirate's approach to managing hazardous materials.

According to Emirates News Agency, the new strategy is a significant alignment with the directives of the Abu Dhabi Government and its leadership's vision, aiming to bolster the hazardous materials management system within the region. It is designed to enhance the centre's capacity to protect both the community and the environment from the risks associated with hazardous materials. This will be achieved through a comprehensive framework that regulates the supervision and oversight of all stages of hazardous materials handling, ensuring compliance with approved regulations by implementing proactive and innovative solutions, along with advanced technologies in collaboration with various partners.

The strategy focuses on several key objectives, such as integrated management of hazardous materials, empowerment and capacity building, institutional maturity and readiness, and the development of legislative and regulatory frameworks. These objectives are set to improve and develop laws and policies that ensure effective governance and complete compliance across all stages of hazardous materials management.

The implementation of this strategy is guided by core values such as professionalism, excellence, integrity, integration, and proactiveness. Ahmed Saif bin Zaytoon Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, emphasized the importance of the strategy in reinforcing the hazardous materials management system, reflecting the leadership's vision for a safe, sustainable, and investment-attractive environment in Abu Dhabi.

Khalfan Abdulla Khalfan Almansoori, Acting Director-General of ADHMMC, highlighted the strategy's role in establishing a roadmap for comprehensive advancements in hazardous materials management, aligning with Abu Dhabi Government's national agenda to enhance economic and social development. He noted that the centre will adopt state-of-the-art technologies and develop an integrated digital system supported by monitoring systems for proactive smart tracking, enhancing preparedness and proactivity in risk management.

These initiatives demonstrate the centre's commitment to digital transformation, aiming to boost operational efficiency and effectiveness, in tandem with the emirate's digital transformation goals. The strategy underscores the centre's dedication to global best practices, reinforcing its role as a leading institution committed to community safety and environmental sustainability, in line with an ambitious national vision for the future.
