SHARJAH: The Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and Middle East has announced the election of Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), as a member of its Board of Directors for a new three-year term.
According to Emirates News Agency, Ali Salim Al Midfa expressed his gratitude to ACI, emphasising that collaborative efforts among Board members strengthen opportunities for regional partnerships between major airports. This collaboration facilitates the exchange of ideas and proposals in line with future aspirations to meet the evolving demands of passengers and the increasing needs of cargo movement. Such synergy positively impacts the regional economy as a whole, with the ACI serving as a vital platform for aviation stakeholders.
The Airports Council International (ACI) includes 814 members overseeing the operation of 2,110 airports across 169 countries worldwide. ACI operates under a federal structure that combines the Global ACI with five regional offices: Africa, As
ia-Pacific and Middle East, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America. Each regional office has its own Board of Directors responsible for addressing the regulatory and operational matters specific to its region.
