AI Retreat Opens in Dubai

Abu Dhabi: Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, highlighted the UAE's success in transforming AI opportunities into tangible advancements at the AI Retreat's opening ceremony. Al Olama emphasized the nation's proactive efforts to empower industries with the necessary tools to accelerate AI adoption across various sectors.

According to Emirates News Agency, the AI Retreat is part of the Dubai Artificial Intelligence Week, which is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The event has drawn over 10,000 experts, decision-makers, innovators, AI pioneers, and officials from more than 100 countries. The retreat, hosted at the Museum of the Future, featured participation from over 150 government officials and global experts, engaging in discussions focused on data and governance, digital infrastructure, economy and investment, and talent development.

Participants at the retreat delved into key policies and legislation, explored AI application opportunities, and outlined strategies to enhance their positive impact on various sectors. Al Olama's keynote, titled 'The Next 5-10 Years - A Force Multiplier of a Nation's Potential,' underscored the UAE's approach to AI, focusing on acceleration without compromising regulation. He asserted that the UAE aims for frictionless AI that improves lives and emphasized the importance of AI-first companies in the nation's economic future.

Dubai AI Week features several key events, including the AI Retreat, Dubai Assembly for AI, Global Prompt Engineering Championship, Dubai AI Festival, Machines Can See summit, AI Week in Schools, the 8th edition of the International Conference on Education Quality, HIMSS Executive Summit Dubai, and Hackathon: Agentic AI.
