Hamdan Bin Mohammed Inaugurates Dubai AI Week 2025 Highlighting Strategic Importance of AI

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, emphasized the critical role of governments in adapting to rapid advancements in artificial intelligence as a measure of their success in achieving strategic goals and improving community wellbeing.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Hamdan made these remarks during the AI Retreat, a key part of Dubai AI Week 2025. This programme, spanning five days, comprises 10 major events at significant locations such as AREA 2071 and the Museum of the Future. The AI Retreat, held at the Museum of the Future, saw the participation of more than 150 government officials and global experts. It featured four closed roundtable discussions on topics including data and governance, digital infrastructure, economy and investment, and talent development. These discussions focused on relevant policies and legislation, exploring AI application opportunities, and strategies to enhance developmental impacts across crucial sectors.

Sheikh Hamdan reiterated the necessity of a proactive approach within the government sector to align with the AI revolution, ensuring preparedness for future transformations. He was joined by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Omar Sultan Al Olama, and several senior officials during the visit.

Dubai AI Week, under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan, is scheduled from 21st to 25th April 2025. It includes a diverse array of events such as the AI Retreat, Dubai Assembly for AI, Global Prompt Engineering Championship, and many more. These events are organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence and the Dubai Future Foundation, drawing global experts, policymakers, and industry leaders from top AI organizations.

Strategic partners of the event include the Dubai Digital Authority, DEWA, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and the UAE Government's Artificial Intelligence Office. Additionally, the week features participation from leading technology companies like Meta, IBM, Google, Microsoft, and others.
