Al Hajeri Hosts Laos Deputy Prime Minister to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

Abu dhabi: Saeed Al Hajeri, Minister of State, recently welcomed Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters. The delegation included Santiphab Phomvihane, Minister of Finance, and Dr. Boviengkham Vongdara, Minister of Technology and Communications, as part of their visit to the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and Laos, with an emphasis on cooperation in economy, technology, and renewable energy sectors. Both parties explored potential development prospects and addressed topics of mutual interest, aiming to enhance their partnership.

Al Hajeri highlighted the strong ties between the UAE and Laos, emphasizing their shared commitment to advancing cooperation within the economic and investment sectors. Efforts to finalize bilateral agreements on avoiding double taxation and promoting investment protection were also discussed as a means to support sustainable development in both nations.

The meeting also covered regional and international developments, focusing on collaboration in technology, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure. Opportunities for partnerships between entities in both countries were explored across these sectors. Al Hajeri expressed his intention to officially visit Laos and reiterated the UAE's dedication to ongoing cooperation with Laos in various fields of mutual interest.

The UAE delegation included Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, and Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister for Energy and Sustainability Affairs, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
