Sharjah: The Cardiac Centre at Al Qassimi Hospital, operated by Emirates Health Services (EHS), has made history by becoming the first facility in the Middle East to perform advanced catheter ablation procedures for pulmonary hypertension using the latest PADN technology.
According to Emirates News Agency, the three successful surgeries signify a major transformation from conventional drug-based treatments, providing patients with a more effective and enduring solution. The procedures were executed by a local medical team in collaboration with Chinese specialists, utilizing a method that has been approved by European regulators and implemented in approximately 1,000 cases globally. All patients were discharged in stable condition the following day.
Dr. Arif Al Nooryani, Director of Al Qassimi Hospital, praised the milestone as a significant advancement in the treatment of chronic and complex conditions. He reiterated the hospital's dedication to adopting cutting-edge therapies and empowering UAE-based medical teams to offer world-class care.
