Arab Actuarial Conference Set to Convene in Dubai for Fourth Edition

Dubai: The fourth edition of the 'Arab Actuarial Conference' is scheduled to take place from 4th to 6th February 2026 at the Millenium Plaza Downtown Hotel in Dubai. The event is co-organised by the UAE Insurance Federation, General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF), and MenaMoney, a financial events organiser.

According to Emirates News Agency, the conference will gather the largest convergence of professionals from the actuarial, insurance, investment, and pension sectors, alongside national healthcare entities, financial regulators, and government executives. The aim is to discuss and address financial risks within these domains.

The event will witness participation from officials spanning finance, health, and social protection ministries, in addition to central banks, insurance regulators, and federations. It will also include insurance companies, banks, actuarial firms, local and international actuarial societies, risk management professionals, and universities offering insurance and actuarial programs across the Middle East and North Africa.

Operating under the theme 'The World from an Actuarial Eye', the conference seeks to foster a better understanding of managing existing and emerging risks within the financial and insurance industries. This understanding is intended to contribute to more prepared and resilient societies.

This year's sessions will explore various topics including the role of AI and data in shaping the future of insurance, emerging trends in health insurance within Arab markets, and the transition towards risk-based capitalisation. Discussions will also cover the role of actuaries in banking, the impact of Generative AI (GenAI) on actuarial work, healthcare design for all, AI governance for insurance and pension funds, and more.

Fareed Lutfi, Secretary-General of the Emirates Insurance Federation, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the conference in the UAE, in collaboration with Bahrain-based MenaMoney and GAIF. Lutfi emphasized the conference's objective of uniting actuarial experts to discuss financial risks in areas like insurance, banking, healthcare, and asset management.

The conference offers a platform for participants to share experiences, expertise, and innovative solutions. Lutfi remarked on the significance of welcoming participants from Arab and African countries to this multi-regional event in Dubai. He also highlighted the conference's focus on the evolving role of actuaries in the era of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.
