AURAK Summit Explores Harmonising AI with Human Intelligence

Ras al khaimah: CEOs, CXOs, board members, academic leaders, and policymakers gathered at the Future Foresight Conference 5.0, a CXO Summit hosted by the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK), to explore the balance between Artificial Intelligence and human intelligence. The summit provided a platform for leaders to discuss actionable insights on harmonising AI capabilities with human intelligence, enhancing industry-academia collaboration, and fostering innovative, resilient, and ethically grounded enterprises.

According to Emirates News Agency, Prof. Bassam Alameddine, President of AURAK, emphasized the institution’s commitment to empowering students with foresight, adaptability, and lifelong learning skills in his welcome address. He highlighted the summit’s focus on intelligent empowerment, sustainable innovation, and human-centred leadership.

Guest of Honour Dr. Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, discussed the growing influence of technology. He noted the need for technology to serve education rather than replace it, and warned against uncontrolled technological growth without strong academic foundations, especially given its poorly understood impacts on emissions and climate.

Keynote speaker Jonscott Turco, CEO of Huminx and Co-founder of Executive AI Institute, introduced the concept of ‘Failure Intelligence (FQ)’. He argued that the ability to learn from failure is crucial for leadership success, and that intelligent risk-taking enhances leadership in a world increasingly shaped by AI and Web3.

The second keynote speaker, Paul Dawalilbi, CEO of Innovation City, discussed the importance of simplicity, speed, and fast decision-making for success. He urged entrepreneurs to avoid perfectionism, make ‘good enough’ decisions, and treat problem-solving as a trained instinct.

The summit also featured panel discussions on topics such as “From Digital to Intelligent: the CEO’s Role in Transforming Enterprises”, “Unlocking Sustainable Growth through Industry-Academia Collaboration”, and “The CXO as Talent Strategist: Making People Central to Enterprise Value Creation”.
