BRIDGE Summit 2025: Canva Highlights Rise of Visual Communication Trends

Abu dhabi: Duncan Clark, Head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Canva, emphasized the significance of the BRIDGE Summit as a collaborative platform that unites corporates, governments, not-for-profits, and SMEs. Clark, speaking at the BRIDGE Summit held at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, described the event as a crucial gathering point for various societal segments to engage and exchange ideas.

According to Emirates News Agency, Clark noted that Canva plays a central role in this collaborative environment, serving as a hub to facilitate communication between diverse stakeholders. He highlighted the importance of data visualization in modern communication, underscoring major trends like AI and the increasing reliance on visual communication. Clark asserted that as society becomes more data-centric, the ability to transform data insights into actionable stories becomes paramount.

Clark further explained the burgeoning trend towards visual communication, stating that society now operates within a "visual economy." He pointed out that humans are inherently visual beings, and current technology and cultural shifts are aligning with this natural inclination. He stressed the necessity of employing design, graphics, and visual content in communication to effectively engage audiences.

Canva's mission, Clark said, is to provide a unified and accessible design tool that simplifies the design process for users. He highlighted Canva's widespread adoption, with one million active users each month in educational settings, demonstrating the platform's user-friendly nature. Since its inception in 2013, Canva has achieved remarkable growth, boasting over 260 million monthly users and generating more than US$3 billion in annual revenue, with over 45 billion designs created globally.
