Burjeel Holdings Achieves NIHS Accreditation for Medical Residency Programmes

Abu dhabi: Burjeel Holdings has received accreditation from the National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS) for its Internal Medicine and General Surgery residency programmes. These accreditations complement the group's existing programmes in Orthopedics and the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship, further enhancing its specialized medical education offerings.

According to Emirates News Agency, this milestone also marks the launch of Burjeel Holdings' post-graduate residency and fellowship programmes across four key medical streams. These initiatives underscore the group's commitment to nurturing future healthcare professionals and advancing the UAE's standing as a hub for premier medical training.

Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani, Secretary-General of the NIHS, stated that the introduction of these programmes aligns with the NIHS vision to bolster postgraduate medical education in the UAE. Collaborating with partners like Burjeel Holdings creates structured pathways to train skilled specialists who will significantly contribute to the nation's healthcare landscape.

John Sunil, CEO of Burjeel Holdings, highlighted that the launch of these programmes is crucial for building a sustainable healthcare workforce in the UAE. By investing in structured training and education, the quality of care is enhanced, fostering innovation and aligning with national healthcare goals.

The training will take place at Burjeel Medical City, Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi, and Burjeel Royal Hospital in Al Ain. Six hospitals within the Burjeel Holdings network have been accredited by the NIHS and DOH as teaching hospitals, with new programmes receiving accreditation in recent months.
